The state of humanity and planet earth is alarming. Acknowledging that “The world is in absolute turmoil” Chögyam Trungpa started to transmit the vision of an enlightened society in the late 1970s as the core of the Shambhala teachings. His vision is based on the understanding that every human being, and actually the whole world are basically good.
This weekend seminary aims to explore together the ground and path of enlightened society in four fields of practices 1) communication and education processes of individuals and in groups; 2) building communities; 3) organizational designs and 4) societal and political rules and values - politics. It is an invitation to deepen your own understanding and practice as “it is up to each of us individually to find the meaning of enlightened society and how it can be realized.”
About the teacher:
Peter Nowak met Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in 1985, the first time, and attended the last Seminary he was teaching in 1986. He has three grown up children. He worked for 40 years in developing strategic initiatives for the Austrian Health system in close collaboration with the Austrian Ministry of Health. This was a wonderful practice ground for creating good society – with and without success.
Peter had many roles in his home Shambhala Center in Vienna, has been on the Board of Shambhala Global and was part of the Shambhala Europe Advisory Group from 2020 to 2024.
